Cade laid still on the ground, unable to move, unable to speak, unable to think of anything. As he took a quick glance around his dark, cold room, he spotted a small object on the floor next to a stack of shelves. He crawled himself closer to the object, and using his front right tyre, he moved the object closer to his view.
The object was a small tree branch. But this wasn’t just any ordinary tree branch. It was a tree branch that Zach had given him when the pair first met for the first time. Oh, that was such an amazing day. They raced for what felt like hours on the racecourse…then he had shown him the forest…and that’s where Zach gave him the branch.
A small drop of oil then came out of Cade’s right headlight, and it fell onto the branch, staining it a little. He closed his eyes tight and gritted his teeth
“Zach…you will be found…and you will come home…alive…” He quietly said.
