Mercedes is usually the most hyper cougar to have ever existed, but I actually got her to go to sleep. I was mimicking her call with a whistle, blew softly on her face and scratched behind her ears to get her to drift off to dreamland. I noticed her tongue was sticking out so I took a photograph.
(Much later after this photo was taken, she grew up and before she left the zoo I was able to get her to remember me by whistling...she was such a sweetheart)

hehe, sometimes felines are too cute. one day I scritched a young cat's chin for a while, when I realized she went asleep sitting on her little haunches. I took away my hand and placed it by her side, since she started to fall over sideways, so I could cushion her fall. XD
