After Patsy's massive genetic overhaul into a huge powerful catgirl turned out to be successful, it was decided that a few more female heroes should receive similar alterations. Melissa was the next one chosen for this procedure, and they allowed her to choose what animal she'd be from then on. She chose to become a cockatoo, wanting her species and new appearance to fit her hero name, Songbird. When Melissa woke up after the procedure, she found out that not only was she a beautiful and fat birdgirl, she was also heavily pregnant. It was unclear of how this all happened, but when Melissa showed pure joy over her sudden motherhood, it was decided that perhaps this was a mistake not worth fixing. And with Melissa going around happily showing off her new body and drawing attention to her belly, it likely wouldn't be long before there were more volunteers for the procedures!
