I think Illiath likes Zorro a little too much
I keep saying "This is one of my favourite scenes in Epsilon" rather a lot, but I have definitely been impatient to get to this chapter for a while now!
Incidentally, for those wondering, this page is an object lesson that sufficiently skilled 'Cubi are able to project emotions they're not actually feeling in order to confuse other empaths. QED.

Hmm, no offense, but it did take me seeing the page title and staring at panel 5 for a minute to realize it was meant to be that scene from the story because I kept seeing the tentacle as background Cubi-ery. Unless it's meant to be vague for a reveal shot down the line perhaps it having 'audible sharpness' or something would make it more clear? Of course I could just be a blind idiot with it perfectly obvious to anyone else.
