THE HISTORY:

AD 4037, Human civilization has peaked and is on its way to fall. Most if not all of the natural resources are used up, very few selected forests and natural scenery survived the mass pollution and are guarded by local authorities with heavy military protection. Living space became tight, rural areas became unbearable as inconvenience of life and pollution of the environment forced people to seek new lives in the cities. The cities thus flourished and became densely populated, about 95% of the population of every advanced nation are located in their capitals. With such dense population comes with an unsightly by-product -- trash. People are producing trash at a faster rate than any technology or solution to deal with them. Since people are living in the age where everything can be done instantly with the help of advanced technology, the most practical way to handle these trash was to bury them where no man can see. Nations all over the globe began purchasing land outside main capitals from people and established facilities the attempts to slowly recycle the trash that are being shipped there. Millions of these factories are constructed around the world, but they're still having difficulties processing all the garbage produced by the advanced cities, over time these facilities simply became a place to dump the trash and formed trash mountains.

ADVANT OF CHANGE:

Just as lives start seeming unbearable and nations are running out of resources that keep the cities growing, the scientists in Renming Federation -- the nation once known as China (which have consumed many other neighboring nations after hundreds of years of wars, and is the largest country in Asia today.) have developed a technology that seems almost too good to be true. By utilizing plasma energy and nano-technology they were able to decompose substances into molecular level and reconstruct them accordingly with proper understanding of the architecture of the said substance. For example, they can break down an entire broken car and reconstruct chunks of metals, plastics, rubber, leather and glass that are completely reusable. The technology is then known as the ultimate recycling solution since people are now able to utilize all the trash that has piled up over the years and transform them into raw materials again. What was once considered as wasteland filled with garbage are now treasure mountains of immeasurable value.

THE TECHNOLOGY:

This miracle technology fundamentally revolves around breaking down the substances bond with each other utilizing plasma energy. GEO, Global Energy Operatives is the sole provider of the industrial-grade plasma, they are a privatized international energy corporate that is strongly affiliated with the Renming Federation. They have set up many electro-magnetic devices used to disrupt polarity in order to collect plasma energy around the globe, most of them are located at North Pole. While the technology of utilizing plasma to recycle substance is distributed across the globe (or at least known to the countries who can afford to purchase the intel from Renming Federation), the right to harvest plasma energy falls in the hands of GEO, which gives the Renming Federation a great technology advantage with being the founding nation of the technology and has better relation with GEO.

THE POLITICS:

The other nations are very unhappy about how GEO monopolized the plasma business and how the Renming Empire still protect their interest. Various international meetings have been hosted in regards to this situation, but the Renming Federation has refused to cheaply distribute their technology and resources every time. Wars then broke out between Renming Federation and the rest of the world, fighting over the rights to plasma energy and trash burial sites (potential resources). Many non-national affiliated organizations also rose up against the Renming Federation in protests of various nefarious things they've done to acquire land and resources or other humanitarian reasons.

THE WAR:

The Renming Federation has had a better advantage over the rest of the world with its advanced technology and man power, but the centuries of peace has changed the face of modern military, the tanks and bombs that were effective thousands of years ago became unsuitable in the rugged terrains of trash sites and weapons of mass destruction could lay waste to potential resources. The fights are then carried out by infantry units that can act precisely and carry out missions carefully without damaging economical interests, but combat in uneven and unpredictable terrain (piles of trash mountain) still proves to be physically difficult even for well-trained men. The Renming Federation then decided to utilize their molecule-reconstructing technology to their military department to create soldiers that can adapt to difficult terrains, GEO also decided to participate in the project as they wish to find better protection for their facilities too. One of the ideas was to combine animals species (most of whom are now extinct with the polluted environment) with obvious physical traits to human gene to strengthen the offspring's physical capacity, for example: a bull's strength, a cheetah's agility, bird's ability to fly. Various species thought to be beneficial to the battle field were then selected, the GEO scientists then utilized the plasma technology to combine the animals gene with human gene while they're still in zygote stage. The result was successful, a hybrid between human and animal with the physical traits of the animal became a reality. While many humanitarian groups have spoken out angrily about the ethics behind such practice, but with the Renming Federation behind its back, the GEO was allowed to carry out their project and synthesize more hybrid soldiers for the government's military use.

THE FERALS:

Those whom are created from the GEO lab with animal features are then called the "Ferals" they are synthesized from zygote stage and raised by trained GEO personnel in government-sponsored facilities. The Ferals, as a citizen of the Renming Federation, enjoys all rights and protection from the government. They receive governmental housing and education all the way till high school level, under the supervisions of GEO trainers. The Ferals are being taught together with pure-breed human child in order to get them used to human and reduce psychological difficulties, they were also given combat trainings at a young stage instead of PE classes to ensure their performance on the battle field. Upon graduating from the Governmental facilities they will face an exam -- a field survival test rather -- that evaluate the survival and combat skills the Ferals have learned over the years. If the Feral individual has passed the examination, he/she will be then drafted to the Renming Federation army with stable salary and all the social benefits of a standard Fedration soldier. If the individual has failed the examination (which is unlikely) or for other reasons that disqualifies him/her from joining the army, that Feral individual has the right to not join the army but at the same time forfeit all governmental sponsored services, which includes the free-housing, meal plan, governmental scholarships, and will be under constant surveillance.


TLDR:

Earth is filled with trash, scientist discover new technology to recycle resources, nations fight over said technology, scientists create furries soldiers using said technology for national interests.
