They're hounded and harassed by the wildlife, at least 4 active 'dead not alive' bounties, prone to leaving ruin behind them, and the sun itself splintered itself into three uneven portions so it wouldn't have to shine brightly on them. Not to mention the prison break and frequent violence and duplicity they engage in.
