There's been an alternate story I've had for Tanook, where he's just a broken down friendroid.
Patchy finds him one day and brings him home, and now has his own personal big fluffy boyfriend.

So more or less retconning anything I had for him before,
at the same time, I don't really need all that dramatic stuff.
