“Kid, what have I told yer’ about overworking yourself?” The Nobrana muttered in response. “I’m sure your boss will not have a heart attack over a few documents ‘n that being missed. You do have a life outside of those plain, white walls, y’know.”
“Yeah, and without these plain, white walls, I wouldn’t be able to pay for yours and mines existence!” His owner replied. “Besides, I might get a bonus for doing overtime, so it may be worth it.”
Enoch sighed in response. His owner could be a difficult human at times, and he wasn’t afraid to let him know it. “So, when do you want me to pick you up then?” He asked his owner
“You know what? You can go and have the evening for yourself, I’ll just catch a cab home.” His owner replied. “I can see myself working in here ‘till late at night, and I don’t want yer’ hanging around the office like a dodgy liver.”
“So, you drag me out ‘ere, make me stand outside your office like a bad smell, and then you tell me I’m not needed? Well, thanks for wasting my time.” Enoch snapped, and with that, he disconnected the call.
With a grumpy rev of his engine, he pulled out of the layby and drove onto the main road. That was just like his owner; an awkward human who didn’t know what he wanted or needed until the very last moment, and when what he wanted did come, all of a sudden, it wasn’t needed. Enoch had told him billions and trillions of times to only call for his assistance if he actually needed it, but taking from the multiple instances his owner had brushed him off, the request was clearly ignored each time.
