Just a funny little mock-up I made for a character I am writing for a friends series of stories in their universe. Only a concept, but I hope to commish some art of him someday

● Dislikes (WIP)
Attention, large gatherings, sauerkraut, scary movies, loud people, touchy people, those damn ark monsters
● Character description
Kaze is a 23 year old male Northern Coyote. He is quite tall for his ascended species, standing at around 5'7. He has a wiry build: long and skinny body, but is much stouter than he appears, and can hold his own against much larger ascendeds if challenged. He is a quiet but emotional individual: aloof, defiant, capable, but loyal to those who show him kindness rather than animosity. He suffers from agoraphobia (the fear of large groups).
● Character back-story (WIP)
Kaze was born in Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, near Yakutat, Alaska to a litter of three, a brother and a sister. At 18 months old, the ark arrived, and he was separated from his pack: father, mother, three brothers, two sisters, and four outsiders. Their status is still unknown. He roamed the Alaskan wilderness as a free ascended and lived off the land as his body changed. Once he was confident enough, he began going into settlements undetected, stealing food and supplies to survive. At the human equivalent of age 12, he was caught stealing food from a food vendor in the settlement of Juneau, Alaska. While being apprehended, he fought back, injuring three officers in the process. None of the injuries were life-threatening. He was placed in a holding cell until authorities could figure out what to do with him. The following day, a moderately-wealthy Japanese-American fisherman named Naoto Hattori arrived at the A.C.L.A. headquarters asking if any beasts were in need of housing, citing he needed help on his boat due to his eldest sons sudden health issues. He was informed of Kaze and his predicament: he was an unregistered free ascended who was feral and had injured three officers in rage. A desperate Naoto agreed to take him in, as a ward of sorts, but under A.C.L.A. conditions: he would help on his boat and around the house, but would also attend school, and join the Coast Guard at the appropriate age. Naoto agreed, and authorities accompanied him home with Kaze, who at this point was more manageable. Upon arrival, Kaze was defiant and withdrawn, and not eager to help Naoto and his family (Naoto, his wife, two sons, one daughter, and his elderly mother). At this point, Kaze still couldn't communicate in language, but he still understood. After much coaxing, Kaze finally began to work, under protest. This led to Naoto's mother giving him his first name, Akuto, meaning scoundrel in Japanese (to this point he was only referred to as his designated number, 7700). As time goes on, Akuto begins to attend school, leaning language, reading, and writing. As he learned, he also slowly began to accept his family, through various acts of kindness from them, though most notably Naoto. He became more eager to help, and was a huge asset to Naoto and his sons at sea. As time went on, Akuto became more inquisitive of things. Around the age of 15, he began showing an immense fascination with airplanes and other aircraft, reading books (by this time he knew how to read through his schooling) and watching old documentaries. This led to Naoto taking notice, even buying him a model plane, which he finished over the course of one night. This also led to Naoto requesting that Akuto be sent to the Air Force rather than the Coast Guard, because he was only moderately useful on the water (he lied, Akuto was a natural at sea) but was infatuated with aircraft. His request was approved. At age 16, he reluctantly left for the Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage. There is an emotional scene as he is about to leave, as Naoto gives him his new name, Kaze (Japanese for wind) as encouragement to do his best. This is the only time Kaze has cried around humans. Once on base, he reverted back to his old ways of defiance. This led to many confrontations in the beginning, even being thrown in the brig once. Most of his superiors despised him. After some time, he began to settle in, mostly with the support of a few human compatriots, but most importantly his ascended counterparts, who explained that if he kept this up, he wouldn't be around much longer. Most notably the change in his behavior came from the support from a stern-but-friendly ascended superior named Howlett, a wolverine. He took him under his wing to help him ease him into living in society and coping with his emotions. His tutelage changed Kaze immensely, but he still retained some of his emotional tendencies. Once given a chance to fly, after many hundreds of hours of training, he was a natural, leaving all his superiors in awe of his ability. This changed many opinions, citing that even though he was a handful, he took his training seriously and had limitless potential. Even so, some superiors still disliked him, due to his past aggressions and aloofness, and they took every chance to demean him. Kaze had changed, he never lashed out, but also never forgot. Upon graduation at 21, he sees his old family again and is elated, showing emotions towards them that his peers had never seen. The family is very proud of him, Sometime later, Kaze is awarded his own plane, irking those that still despised him. He named his new aircraft Wild Wind to spite the ones who still doubt him.
