The speech is one of President Eden's in Fallout 3. Anyone who hasn't played Fallout will not really get this. And for those of you who have, this is spoken from memory, which is why I say "Something" at one point; I forgot the word he says. There are also likely other inaccuracies, but it's just a random little thing that proves I am way too obsessed.
Edit: Was going to go into scraps, but has proved surprisingly quite popular, so I guess not ^^

Heh, thank you. I'm glad I had that effect on you. As for knowing his last name, I thought he did say it sometimes, but if not 3Dog and some characters in the game certainly refer to him as President Eden, so it's just a matter of scouting around ;)
If you've not heard his say Eden before it's possible your radio's gliched. Mine has, it keeps playing the same 3 or 4 broadcasts over and over again, instead of the full range (He has maybe 8 or so I think), so it might be that it won't play certain broadcasts for you.
Anyhow, thanks for the fave, glad you liked it ^^

XD Nathan, I think. I didn't blow up the city, cause I'm a nice guy
Plus, I'd already seen it happen at a mates house, so I wasn't tempted XD
By the way, if you're a big fan of scifi, you might wanna check out www.scififur.net , I'm Assistant Director there, so I can vouch for it

yep, it was Nathan, came bk 2 me and ill look into the scifi, it looks very interesting, but u have to give credit to the explosion, it was...beautiful, just...beautiful, wish there were more cities with bombs in the dead centreand thx again for the scifi site info, will look into it
Technically, with 3Dog, it does reference what you do, but only in set missions and such. Also, it occasionally breaks. I tried saving two people in the Bigtown quest, but they died. Because I still collected the reward, the game assumed that I must have killed them on purpose, so 3Dog starts telling everyone what a bastard I was. But he also introduces me with the good karma intro, so it went like "God bless the Vault Dweller, we should all be more like him. I've recently found out he went to a settlement called Bigtown, where they were having trouble with Super Mutants. They asked him to help, but he didn't. What an asshole". AND IT KEPT PLAYING IT DX
Yeah that game was so buggy! My friend was complaining about one of the characters he needed to talk to in Megaton accidentally falling off a high platform and killing themselves,.. to me it sounded like a rare moment of realism, a suicide to escape a nightmare world.
Also it did this crazy thing where Supermutants became invisible if they were too far away (presumably when the game tried to switch to using a lower polygon-count model, which was somehow missing or corrupted) which made sniping them "fun".

Yikes. That's harsh. I've had a couple things like that, but only in minor missions. One I remember some Brotherhood Knights sent me to find their fallen comrade, which I did. Then they just ignored me. I got his dogtags, went outside, and couldn't talk to them anymore.
Then there was the Republic of Dave, where I tried to fix the election. Dave told me if I made sure he won, he'd give me some caps, but I got everyone to vote for him and his response is to this very day "The polls haven't closed yet. You'll get your caps when everyone's voted" ¬_¬

I'm trying to learn how to impersonate Morgan Freeman, but he usually has a similar demeanor to President Eden; The kind of calm, grandfatherly talking-by-the-fireplace. Because I practiced doing Eden for so long, whenever I do anyone saying that kind of thing, telling a story or something, I drift into doing Eden's voice. Very annoying ><
Thanks. I think you're definitely right. There are certain phrases I can do fine, and I think I'm pretty good at his "ooooh"s, like "The adventures we had". It's the normal bits I start to lose it on, where it's just talking and no sighs or exclamations.
Anyhow, thanks. I might try it again some time.
