More doodling to establish Craig's character.
I actually was debating working this into Craig's debut comic, with the Dad joke nudge and zoom-in smile, but there wasn't really enough room to showcase what I was doing. I just really liked the concept that each time his jokes get worse, he somehow got toonier and toonier.
One interesting tidbit I'm not sure I mentioned...I used to think Disney was the primary influence in my art, but the more I try toony stuff, the more I think Looney Tunes actually formed more of the building blocks. I once tried drawing teh hubby as an actual Disney prince, and I couldn't adapt the style well enough.
(Edit: this needed an actual Dad joke in it for maximum effect, so here you go.)

Awesome progression, both in 'toony-ness'... and in Jake's deteriorating good humor. xD But yeah, now that I think about it, your style (not just art-wise, but humor-wise) does seem more Looney Tunes-esque than Disney. I mean heck, "Class Menagerie" had anvils falling on your characters! Lol!
Haha, people like that always bugged me. People who think they are funny but they make no sense most of the time.
Interesting use of different styles to represent the awkward situation. Jake and Craig look so hot in each style. But of course their original style will always be my favorite.
Man, I marvel at your art.

All in all, I think my favorite is the top right, thought I'd like to see it with more anatomical details like on the top left. Jake feels weird without a six-pack. =P
I also really like Jake's head in the bottom right. Weird that Craig's toes get more detail there then on the bottom left and even the top right. And speaking of feet, why does Jake go through a digitgrade phase on the bottom left too?

Neither studio animated a lot of muscle work unless there was conscious flexing. Not for lack of looking and hoping on my part, of course!
Bottom right was mostly inspired by the Bonkers toon. And the bottom left was mostly styled after Robin Hood, who used digitigrade canines
