Couple weeks ago on SpinDizzy ( https://wiki.spindizzy.org/ ), PatchO'Black painted me ghost-colored for Halloween. It's been a lot of fun playing at being a spirit for a while. But obviously just being beyond the material plane doesn't mean you never get into a quarrel with anyone and it's only fair to give them warning before I deploy the serious responses.
All those redraws of Casper comic book panels trained me to feel comfortable letting my limbs, especially legs, just curl up in midair like that. I think that's given a decent floating look to things. Having Ghost Austin's colors overrun the lines wasn't exactly an accident. I always color in going past the lines and then trim the color to fit. But I realized it gave this nice not-quite-solid sheen to things and played that up. I'm not sure whether adding the color smears to the word balloon helped, but I'll stand with it. Also, fiddling with a color layer's opacity is a nice and easy way to give it this translucency.
