I know it's been a while since I've done a 3D head, but now, I realize that it's not a good strategy working on two 3D heads at the same time, haha. Anyways, making Jurga was actually easier than I thought. Before entering this project, I thought that the nose would give me trouble, because it has that long bar in the middle, but no. What gave me the most trouble was how the nose and the vertical line in the middle of the upper lip met each other. Nevertheless, I enjoyed making him and it was super cool seeing his face, in the end. I'm so happy I have him and Impax the Impala in 3D, a very special pair to me.
Two lessons I learned from this project. One: check really closely for small details like the whiskers. I made the mistake of not smoothing two of them out in the final render, so I had to re-render that portion, then combine the mistake and the correction in Photoshop. Two: do simple textures. If you actually look at the back of his head, I was very detailed with the jaguar spots even though they're hidden. Even if I've shown the back of his head, I'm not picking my battles correctly by doing complicated textures, when I'm a 3D modeler, and the fact my style is cartoony an minimalistic, to begin with.
