I remember when
JenoraFeuer told me her original aniform felinoid-self was based IC on Steve Gallacci's 'Erma Felna'; I suspect that had I seen this picture drawn by Steve in the span of years between meeting her early in 1992 and the present day or not, I would've pictured Jenora with appreciable similarity to the drawing above, including the bright green eyes. I had half in mind that Jenora would be referenced here, but even though she wasn't outside of my comment here, I hope I may be pardoned for seeing her in the guise of the catperson in Mr. Gallacci's drawing. I hope he's been well, if it's any of my business to intrude or posit.
Thank you for the sharing thus, Major!

AFAIK, SG is doing OK, but I'm sure he'd appreciate any well wishes sent his way!
As for Erma being an inspiration...well...

You could say that, indirectly, Tali Hartoh-Mason was the love child of Erma Felna and Kitten Kaboodle.

I'll drop Steve a post thus in a Shout, if I may; we've never met before (aside from my enjoying his artwork Albedo and collecting the various incarnations of the series in the 1990s) and I don't want to intrude on him and his business as an otherwise, if friendly stranger. Albedo Vol. 2 #5 (Antarctic Press) with Dea Htuhok-Kho, the wolf that walks like a fox, on the cover, was the first comic I bought that went in my longboxes back in 1992, the same year I became a Fur and part of Furry Fandom. I eventually got interested in Fusion (Eclipse Comics) and collected the whole shebang of the series in back issues. Steve Gallacci and Lela Dowling and their work were two of the first big inspirations in my own journey of pencil and ink, that has spanned the last 28 years.
Erma Felna, I imagine, has inspired a great many persons and their own characters, while evolving over time into their own unique concepts of character, like Tali and my friend Jenora. :)

Hanging on a wall here I have another painting by
stevegallacci from some years back, though given that Erma is in military kit and carrying a rifle, I think she's the original...
