Here's the jacket to another US military field uniform --- the stereotypical "BDU" (Battle Dress Uniform), dyed in the equally stereotypical "Woodland" camouflage pattern.

And its the summer version. Very light, breathable, but very durable. You can tell by the slight checkerboard pattern in the fabric.

The chequerboard is the rip stop material pattern, and it's the Lime Dominant ERDL camouflage used during the Vietnam war period, based off a WW2 German camo pattern. Though the zipper pocket is an interesting mod the previous owner had done to it... Never seen that before.

Man, this jacket is turning out to be a LOT more interesting than I though it looked when I photographed it.

I'm a Vietnam war re-enactor, it's the uniform we use in our unit as it was the same they sued. The helmet next to it gives it away as that was the issue M1 Helmet with Mitchell camo pattern cover on it.

Heh depends, some do get them purely for collection purposes. My ERDL uniform is worn at the shows, even if it is over 40 years old. The unit my group portrays is L Company LRRP Rangers, 75th Infantry, 101st Airborne. It's a cool group, small but we have a lot of knowledge.
