y'know... my own vintage ride is a 1974 Ford Taunus sedan. and I live here in Stuttgart, where Mercedes and Porsche are big names. and of course, there are lots of Mercedes SL and S-class, and many a 911 around. thing is, those used to be dream cars for most people, and still are to most of those. but the average human's daily ride, like mine? Opel, Ford, Fiat, beetle, all those things are often long gone and rare. but those are the rides people look after when they pass by, since they used to have one, or uncle/auntie/neighbour/any other signigficant person used to drive one way back when. and within a mass of modern rides with fancy names and ugly "faces", those poke out like a lightbulb in the dark. a porsche? bwah, who cares. that old veedub? looks almost like the one I had as a wee student...

I love the classics myself. '74 Taunus? Lucky! I had a late 60s diecast Taunus as a lad. Cute little thing, hood opened and jeweled headlights.

many years ago I decided to specialize my modell car collecting on all things ford, thought there can't be that much to have... boy was I wrong. XD I found some pretty rare things over the years, so rare you've never heard of the maker before or after. XD I want to make an online museum out of it one day soon. just need a place to host, and a gallery software that doesn't require much programming skills.

anyway, those often came in two versions: only doors open, and hood and trunk opening, too, with "superfast" wheels to go. ^^
