Another one for AC. I love grrreen! This is mostly marker with a little acrylic for the details on her and on the chains.
Inspired by an AH! piece I saw which also had cool chainage and drapery going on.

Yeah, if I was gonna go over to the digital side I would have to have one of those. Much more suitable to how I draw naturally. Thing is, they cost an arm and a leg *eyetwitch* It would pay for itself over hundreds of times given the saddening popularity of digitally rendered artwork, but the initial funding would be impossible to get together, aye?
It takes a while to get used to, but eventually it becomes a non-issue. I started out doing digital art with a mouse (which is absolutely not as impossible as people seem to think) and now I have a small intuos tablet. The part where digital art becomes a lot simpler and easier is with the use of things such as flood fills, layers, undos, etc. Traditional art simply doesn't offer such time saving luxuries, boo! :P
Lol, I did a piece similar to this one ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1259377/ )...but it pales in comparison. XDD Absolutely beautiful! I love what you did with the fabric!
It is indeed just pencil, but not really light lines. They just have to be very crisp and precise. If you make the lineart too light it will disappear once you start going over it with markers, and this is especially a problem in the areas such as the background, where a lot of little lines will get overlapped with large expanses of the same color.
As you can imagine, not smudging it all to hell also becomes a concern. XD

I sketch lightly, then as I go and refine the lines I erase the ones that shouldn't be there. This is still much faster than transferring sketches, and my paper is too think for direct lightbox tracing, usually. And no problem about questions, I enjoy answering precise technique questions (as opposed to "teach me how to draw" broad requests, heh)
Oh, I see! Do you use a specific eraser? I've been using a kneadable eraser but it doesn't.. erase very well. It's not normally a problem since I usually scan the sketch and then do the rest digitally, but...
I find it interesting because I know a watercolour artist who has soft, thin lines like yours, but when I asked her how she did it, she told me she used a really thin pen. I think your way seems more practical!

Papermate eraser stick! Worker of miracles!
I love kneaded erasers for big erasing jobs (as in I fucked up so bad I'm erasing the whole thing) because they don't leave any eraser droppings, but they are absolutely useless for detail erasing jobs. The stick is like a mechanical pencil holder, except it holds a thin white eraser. It's really nice and doesn't leave any funny marks on the paper.

wow, really? I always thought kneaded erasers were for lifting pigment when coloring(or rendering in general), and not so much for erasing large surfaces(as opposed to http://www.utrechtart.com/images/pr.....eraser2_lg.jpg) unless you wanted to lift a bit of your pencil lines to lighten them. At least, thats what they tought us in school.
Tuff Stuff erasers are super awesome!

If your initial sketches are light like mine it works great and doesn't leave a mess. Just cause it's meant to be used for one thing doesn't mean it can't be used for another! ;) (actually I wasn't aware that they had a specific purpose to begin with, I always thought it was just another eraser XD)
sorry to butt in. XD
Kneaded erasers are generally used to lift pigment. I use mine when I apply too much colored pencil to an area, then i Just dab the eraser in it and it lightens it.
You can erase with it, but its nto really made for erasing huge surfaces.

a very beautiful job Shin, it would be amazing to commission you sometime. the amount of detail you use is breathtaking. a very clean and tasteful piece here, and i adore her expression, very sensual and alluring, watchful yet inviting.
lovely job once more. it would be great to own a bit of your work sometime in the near future by winning or snagging a slot.

This is utterly gorgeous. I love how light and airy the room she's in looks. It gives the whole thing such a feeling of warmth and comfort, in spite of all the cool greens, and it really shows off all the folds in the cloth very nicely. She's a lovely girl, too. I really like the how coy and teasing she looks, and how inviting and open her expression is. Harem pictures often make me a little bit uncomfortable, because of how often the idea is conflated with slavery. But this seems more like a fantasy that she is sharing, or something that she is at least a willing partner in. And that really makes a huge difference.
No way, girl! You're amazing! I adore that green colour of the drapery in the background.. I wish my walls were that colour! Okay, honestly i wish they were a shade of blue, but that pale green's still a lovely colour, and it goes so well with the cool shadows of your snow leopardess. The brushstrokes are so smooth, i utterly thought this was digital from the thumbnail. I'm sorry i will miss AC this year, as i'd love to see this piece, and you again! Her fur detail is delicious :)
f***ing awesome, really! I love your art since I was a child (I started watching anthro at 13), and of all the artist that i saw (that are a lot, i swear) you are really the best one! :) just go on like this; your art makes me proud to be an anthro drawer (a really bad one, but at least a drawer)! ;)
Dammit, I am so behind commenting on stuff... >_< Even if I don't do it that often.
For some reason this is one piece of yours that sticks out to me no matter how often I see it. I think I just love your Snowleopard pieces in general... Here it's the contrast of the warm grey fur and cool green, the light greens in general that I associate with jade (which - smong other things - is after all the stone of beauty ^^).
I simply adore the way you draw hair like this and your patience for the chains is just to envy.
