In the sky were buses that had the same body as his, and they were all wearing the old New Midlands livery. They looked down on the little red Dart and waved hello to him. Marcus could not believe his eyes; they were all his old friends who he used to work with many years ago.
“Milan, Wolly, Porches, you’re all here! I can’t believe you’re here!” He said as he jumped up and down on the spot excitedly.
“Yes, Marcus, it’s us! We’ve come to see you again! It’s been such a long time!” One of the Darts said to him.
Marcus was so happy he could’ve cried. Seeing all his old friends from years and times gone by was the best thing he could’ve ever asked for. He had so much to ask, and many questions he wanted answers to. The moment overwhelmed his engine, and he couldn’t help but stare at his friends before him.
“Don’t ever stop being yourself, Marcus. It’s what you’re the best at doing. Everyone is happier when you’re around” Another Dart said to him.
“You are a strong, trustful, and great friend to everyone around you. You may not be able to see or feel it, but you are the brightest and happiest star in the world” Another added.
“We miss you!” Another then put in.
“And…I miss you too!” Marcus said, slightly struggling to get his words out as he tried to come to terms of what was happening at that very moment “I wish you’d come back and join me! I’d show you all my friends here! You would love them just as I love them too!”
“We watch you from the skies all the time. We’ve seen your strengths, your weaknesses, and what you are capable of at your best. We’re sure that you will continue our legacy as you have done for so many years” A Dart said.
“I’ll try! I’ll do my best to make you all proud of me!” Marcus replied.
The clouds then started to disappear, as so did the Darts in the sky. Marcus reached out his front right tyre to say goodbye, but soon they were gone from the sky. He placed the tyre down and sighed sadly.
