For a very long time, Halyb's depiction of Tarkustralzar and Sixsydes was my favorite piece on FA, and it's been a huge inspiration to me as I make my own characters and stories.
As I planned my current D&D campaign I hoped to eventually evoke a similar scene, where my party could eventually encounter the aforementioned Dungeons and Dragons! It's taken an awful lot of planning, but in our last session, the party finally accessed Signum's ancient library with the help of the vampire Lydia. They exchanged a long account of their adventures where the caves, shelves, Dragonshards, and kobolds have all been recurring themes-- so by the time we finally got here they all made an awesome addition to the scene. I am so happy with how this piece turned out, because so much of it i never could have come up with on my own (i mean *runic* art deco?! this is my favorite style ever now.)
This piece is an absolute masterpiece by
Halybs who worked with me for months to bring every little detail to life. I cannot express what a joy it was to work with such a talented artist because our discussions on themes, colors, expressions, and magic not only made me smile at every new message, they inspired so much of my own writing and encouraged me to share it with my friends!
