So, I went to seaworld (as you can see by the emblem on my chest) and managed to reserve heaven itself that day. I got to go almost face to face with polar bears. I got to feed and touch a walrus (HE WAS HUGE!). And, I got to swim with and play with balugas. It was DAMN cold in there!
BTW, obviously I didn't take this photo. This was professionally done by seaworld photographers. Some of the best. And yes, that's me on the left... I need to work out more. XP

There were dolphins at seaworld as well. I didn't reserve the dolphin thing here because I had heard that the dolphin trainers here were... lacking in friendly personality...
But, yes. I know what you mean. I was in absolute heaven. This reassured me that I want to work in a zoo some day, or more importantly, be a manager for one.

It was very cold and rubbery. If you've ever played with the inflatable rubber balls that they occasionally have at walmart (the smooth colorful ones). Think of that but thicker and ... more alive... It wasn't slimy at all. Just very very smooth. Rubbery and yet slightly stiff like plastic. It's really hard to accurately explain it.
That's a tough question to accurately answer.
I always described cetacean skin similarly to a hard boiled egg to be brief. XD It's very slick, smooth and delicate. More rubbery when exposed to the air for a minute or so. Has slight give to it if you press gently but you can feel the firm muscle underneath quite easily. The underside, particularly the belly area is softer, less underlying muscle tone and more blubber. Very nice to slide your hand back and forth over.
It's easier if you find one that you're able to give a good thorough rubbing to know how it is exactly. XP

Oh yes. I got splashed by some of those guys. They're cheeky little buggers. So cute and silly. I almost chose a dolphin as my fursona species, actually... but then i decided I wasn't nearly intelligent enough for that. xD Only slightly above average. Not genius...
