I know it did.
I am a classic car fan. The original charger (produced 1966-1978) only had 2 doors wand was a true muscle car.
With the introduction of the "new" chargers, many classic car fans were upset at the new look. It followed very little of the original design and was basically a redesigned Dodge Magnum with the name "Charger" slapped on it. It was also made into a 4 door sedan, hence the "REAL CHARGERS DON'T HAVE 4 DOORS!" battle cry heard by most classic Charger fans.

They wanted to bring back the classics. They failed with the Charger, but did REALLY well bringing back the Challenger. The new Challenger even follows the same lines as the classic model.
And while I absolutely hate the new Charger, it's because of the name they slapped on it. It's a good car, just not a Charger.

I agree, I loved the original Charger compared to the new version and the Challenger, woo, what a ride, by the way, have you seen the design for the 2011 Charger. Tell you what, I will give you the link for the image and you can make up your own mind. I look forward to hear back with any of your thoughts about it. http://www.dodge.com/en/2011/charger/
I both like and dislike the new design. They seem to be moving back towards the classic shape, but it looks more like a "muscle sedan" to me still. Then again, those pictures might not be doing it justice, as some of them were angled strangely and warped the dimensions of it's appearance.
