Here's something
I need to hear this a few more times before I know if I like it or not, but my goal was to write something in which the vocals were the least interesting thing. So I cut out harmonies.
I made up for it with guitar hits and a very active bass line.
Also I thought the lyrics were pretty neat.
It's an expression of my admiration of artists. I can't draw anything (gift-art please!)
Lyrics:
images woven of dreams fall
onto the page like so much water
swept and smeared by the brush
carving into the paper an existence
Can you capture my spirit
scribble it down onto the canvas
can you see into my head
own my visage with a pen tip
He etches sun-swept fantasies in graphite
nimble fingers scribing heaven
to gleam the brilliance of his mastery
Oh how we long to touch
Can you capture my spirit
scribble it down onto the canvas
can you see into my head
own my visage with a pen tip
cannot compare to his ability
never match his grace
poets and prophets fall to naught
but never see his face
Can you capture my spirit
scribble it down onto the canvas
can you see farther into my head
owning my visage with a pen tip

First off, this song heavily reminded me of the song "De-Luxe" by Lush, which I'm guessing might have been unintentional. It's the guitar work combined with the way your voice flows. I had to hunt to figure out what that reminded me off, but thankfully I at least knew I had heard it before on Rock Band.
Secondly, while you attempted to make the vocals the least interesting thing, I found the lyrics the most interesting when combined with the guitar. The meaning of the words, combined with the images it gives, is something I can see every time I look at some of the works on this very own site. Hell, I sometimes look at my own work and go, "How did I create this from nothing?" I described it best with a rather crappy poem I wrote once dealing about it and how every artist, writer, and to some degree, musicians, are gods of their own little worlds, creating and ever changing the world within their mind and making it to their liking and in there image. The lyrics you wrote speak the same degree as what I said in that poem. Kinda wish I still knew where it was...
Anyway, excellent work.

well sir I'm pretty sure you get the "longest comment yet" award from me, and I totally love that.
I love how deeply you looked into the lyrics and that was exactly what I was going for.
I actually thought this was kinda meh for me but I'm getting encouraged by the comments. thank you

Right the first guy gave a comment that is almost too full for me to add onto due to my stupidity in anything other than pre-classical music.
Anyway, even though your vocal harmonizations are totally awesome to the max it's nice to sometimes have one unaccompanied line in the vocal part!
I loved listening to this, the lyrics got to me and if I were good with words I could probably say how too!
there was a section that reminded me of a Monty Python musical number, and that's great. Thanks so much for doing this, you should totally spam it on every visual artist's song and tell them that it's dedicated to them XP
