Back again~

So... I have finally finished the next chapter of Cafe Husky! This is the LONG awaited chapter that everyone has wanted, and I am here to give you what you deserve! My life has completely changed since the last chapter, so if things seemed different, or if I messed up any information, please tell me! I want this to be good! Also, the ending is pretty bare bones because something came up that tanked my mood, so I may come back and change it up another day.

Anyway, this chapter focuses on the time after dinner where Elhan leaves Fen and Husk to their own devices, as they are now stuck with each other for a LOONNNGGG time.

Café Husky
Chapter 14

The dinner was absolutely divine. Everything tasted like it was cooked by a master chef, and it wasn’t long before the three of us finished everything that was laid out before us, plates bare of any remnants of food, minus the bones that laid in the center of the plate, which were picked cleaned. I look over to see Fen and Dad contently patting their stomachs, full of the giant portions of food that each of them got, leaving them stranded on the chairs, rubbing over their slightly distended bellies.

I take this time to admire my boyfriend sitting on the other end of the counter, his cream, and white-colored fur looking so attractive in my eyes. His pointy ears jutted high from the top of his head, the tall ears being able to hear any sounds that may travel through the air. He is currently wearing a light brown shirt that matches well with his khaki pants, melding well with the light colors of his fur. I have seen many fennec foxes in my lifetime, but this is the first one that has ever caught my attention. He inserted himself into my life, and there has not been a moment when I have been with him that I have not had an absolute blast, even during all the sad moments. He showed up when I was at my lowest, and he continues to support me through everything, even letting me live with him in his apartment, for the time being at least. I don’t think I could have come up with a better outcome, especially if I get to stay with my boyfriend for a while.

Boyfriend. It’s still a bit weird to say that.

I just met him a few days ago, but I couldn’t imagine anyone more perfect for me. I just loved everything about him, from his goofy attitude, and his jokes that never failed to make me chuckle. He was just such a catch. And after every thing in my life came tumbling down, he was there to pull me out of the rubble. It was just such a relief. I don’t know what I would have done if Fen hadn’t shown up. I had enough saved up enough money to be able to rent an apartment complex for a two or three months, but that was an extremely temporary solution, which only had one possible outcome.

But there’s no reason to worry about that now. Everything is finally coming together in my favor, and… I can’t say I argue with the outcome.

A paw grips my shoulder, which causes me to almost fall out of the stool I was sitting on. Strong paws kept me in place though, a powerful grip keeping me steady and grounded.

“Woah Son! Calm down there! We don’t need ya to go to the ER tonight!”

I look up at my savior, my dad staring at me with a huge smile spread across his face. His bright white fur contrasted with the dark tufts of fur poking out of his ears, the husky’s endearing smile looking at me as I relax after the big meal, thinking over the past few days, and the glorious things that have come from them. I look over at Fen as well as he gives me the same endearing look that my father was giving me, a look of love and happiness filling his eyes as he stares at me. I look to both of them, and can’t help but flash a smile back at them as well, happy that my two favorite men are here with me.

Dad is the first to get off the stool, stretching heavily as he stands up, obviously still burdened by the food that we consumed. He looks at the two of us, before he speaks up, his deep voice resonating in his chest, “Okay boys! Aah think it’s time aah head out! It was aah wonderful meal there Apollo! Aah’ll definitely have to come back another day! Aah know aah won’t be disappointed now!”

Fen gets up from his stool and walks over to my dad and I, grasping my paw with his own as he stares into my mismatched eyes, as I can see the love and care that he has for me, knowing in that moment… that I could not be happier.

I look toward my dad and his caring eyes, seeing his façade beginning to break as he stares at me, obviously not wanting any of this to come to fruition, but the cards didn’t play in either of our favors. I look up at him, and I can’t help but think about the years of joy we had. Whether it be the times we went camping together, to the times where we would fish together. All of it seemed like it happened yesterday… even though it was years ago…

My dad’s paw trails down to my chin, lifting it up so he can get a good look at me, as he wipes a tear away from my eye.

…when did I start crying?

I look up at him with tear stained eyes as I can see his own tears forming, his cheeks damp with the runoff of his tears, as he speaks up again, trying to keep his voice from cracking, “Now don’t you go doing that Son… You’ll make me tear up too! Wait till aah’m gone for the waterworks why don’t ya!”

I can’t help but laugh at Dad’s joke, wiping the tears away from my eyes as I look back to him, a smile spread across his face despite the sad moment, and I can’t help but do the same, his infectious smile getting to me. In this happy moment, what my dad said finally comes back to me, “Well Dad… why don’t we see you out? It is the least we could do after you helped us so much tonight.”

Dad looks at us one last time, before nodding his head, “Yeah… Aah would like that a lot actually.”

Fen and I nod our heads, as we walk outside the apartment, Dad following closely behind us as we make our way back to the entrance of the apartment, showing no signs of Jack or Trent, as they seemed to have everything moved out as well, as we walk toward the elevator, Dad pushing the button to take us down to the lobby.

The walk back to my dad’s truck was a hard one. I knew that this day would come eventually, but I didn’t think it would be under such… tense circumstances… I keep a straight smile though as we reach his truck, the vehicle standing out against the dark night, as the moving vehicle seemed to be gone. Jack and Trent must have already gotten everything and left quickly. They did seem to be in quite a rush before.

Dad stops outside his truck as he stares at both Fen and I, as he is obviously trying to hold back the tears from this tender moment. My paw can’t help but trail up to the necklace Dad got me, fondling the intricate wooden trinkets attached as I can’t help but fidget with the new accessory, knowing that it may be a while before I see my dad again.

Dad is quick to stop that though, bringing a paw up to my face to caress my cheek, his thick paw gently caressing my cheek as he stares at me, the love and care from before the whole fiasco of coming out to him and Mom being just as strong as it was before, maybe even more as he stares down at me. I can’t help but tear up, and I lunge at my dad, wrapping my arms tightly around him as we are illuminated by the soft glow of the streetlights lining the parking lot, as I just keep him close to me, just wanting to enjoy his warmth a little bit longer. His heavy paws trail along my back as he holds me against him, and I can feel as soft tears hit the top of my head, dampening my fur with stray tears as he embraces me, my own tears rolling down my cheeks to land on his chest, his own fur getting wet with my tears, as we just enjoy this moment.

Dad hugs me tight one more time, before he extracts himself from our warm embrace, tears still rolling down his cheeks as he stares at me again, before he speaks up, “Son. Aah know things are going to turn out well from now on… You have Apollo to take care of you now, and aah can see how much you two care for each other. There is a connection between you two that I haven’t seen in anyone for a long time. So aah know you guys can figure anything out as long as you are together.” He turns towards Fen, “And you take care of mah son ya hear? Aah don’t want a scratch on him!” I can see a smile spread across his face as he approaches Fen, whispering something in his giant ear as Fen quickly turns a bright red, as Dad backs up quickly with a giant smile on his face, grinning wildly from whatever he had done to my boyfriend.

Dad stares at me for a moment, before he speaks up again, “ And Son? Just… don’t change. I know the last week may make it seem like you aren’t perfect, but never forget that you will always be perfect in your mom and aah’s eyes. And don’t be a burden to Apollo now! He seems like a nice fella, so I know he won’t do nothin’ wrong to you, but you are a different case! Be nice!” He stares at me for a moment more, before he walks up to me once more, before embracing me in a tight hug, holding me rigidly against his body, “Aah love you Son… Aah will always love you… Never forget those words… Aah. Will. Always. Love. You…”

Tears begin to form in my eyes again as he holds me against him, his strong arms keeping me close as he refuses to let go, as I can’t help but croak out a single saying, “I love you too Dad… I love you too…”

Dad lets me go and holds me at arm length, and I can see that his cheeks are damp with tears. He gives a light tap to my shoulders as he holds me at arms length, staring deep into my brown and blue eyes, before he leans in and gives me a quick kiss on the forehead, reminding me of all of the times he would do that when I was young… more tears welling up in my eyes as he holds my head close to him. He lets go of my head and backs up to his truck, unlocking the vehicle and hopping inside quickly. He turns back to Fen and I, a smile on his face as he wipes away the tears that had formed on his face, “And hey you two…” He pauses a moment for dramatic effect, “So… dinner same time next week?”

The tense situation is immediately lifted as we all laugh at the dumb joke. It is not long after that my dad drives off, waving at us as he drives away from the apartment, leaving Fen and I alone in the parking area.

I feel a paw on my shoulder, and I look over to see Fen staring at me, a look of concern in his brown eyes as he stares at me, before he brings another paw up to wipe the tears that had formed on my cheeks. He looks at me once more, before he speaks up, the concern in his voice obvious, “Hey Husk… Let’s go back to the apartment and hit the hay. We had a really long day, and we both need some sleep.”

I nod my head, “Yeah… that sounds great…”

We make our way back to our apartment, the idea of heading to sleep sounding great to my ears.

Husk and I get back to the apartment quickly, and we set about to get ready for bed, with the both of us using the bathroom and brushing our teeth as we prepare for sleep. We talked about it for a bit, and we came to a consensus that we would sleep in my bed, because we had already done it before, and we saw no reason to try and not do it tonight. We also agreed that we were too tired to talk about anything else tonight, as we just said we would talk in the morning. We both get settled in the bed, as Husk wraps his arms around me, and the realization that this would be a normal occurrence from now on brings a smile to my face, as I quickly fall asleep in Husk’s arms, with him following close behind me. As we fall asleep.
