... aka not-Marcel from Animal Crossing, haha. Though unintentional, the fur color and markings are nearly identical.
I started getting into lineart again last year after a long pause and it's been really nice going back and forth between this and painting whenever I get stuck on one or the other. I still haven't found a good way of shading, though. I need to experiment more - both with shading and using different brushes for the lines. I keep going back to the same brush because it's the only one I'm comfortable with and I have very little patience whenever I try something new and it doesn't work immediately.

I feel that feel, so hard.
That said, I'm also not sure what different brushes bring to the table, except for texture and opacity.
And for hard shading like this, I can't imagine needing much texture.
Whatever brushes you used for this one, I like their feel. In combination with the colours, it gives me a "french animation" vibe somehow.

Oh no, I'm sorry you feel the same way! It really sucks.
It's exactly that, texture and opacity. The brush I'm using is a very simple homemade brush and it works fine but I have to be careful about overlaps when I erase and redraw lines so it doesn't look choppy though maybe that's more a matter of having a cleaner workflow and being decisive instead of second guessing every line I put down ever.
That's really interesting! French animation vibes definitely isn't a bad thing. I'm happy you like it!
