I have a LOT of spare time at work. It can take sometimes up to an hour and a half for me to get another call.
So, they let us read, draw, etc. We can't surf the net though ;;
So, i usually get tremendously bored if i'm not reading,and start drawing like CRAZY all over everything. I could only bring two pictures home that didn't have personal information of customers written on them xD So, here's one of 'em.
It's Darky Unicorn, made completely of BIC blue pen.. no sketching, just straight up pen.. everywhere... xD

I wish more artists would do stuff like this.. use lined paper and a pen. Mediums that are available to ALL artists. So many epic artists are super epic because they have lots of awesome tools at their disposal.. such as Prismacolors, art programs, etc.
I'd love to see well known awesome artists use this medium because as i said, they'll use tools EVERYONE has.. so it really helps show their level of skill! ^^

There's some kind of saying.. "A poor craftsman blames their tools." I wonder if like..the contrapositive of this statement is true. "A good craftsman doesn't need tools" or something strange like that.
But yeah, you're exactly right. I would love to see more art that consists of more layman media. Put away those fancy markers and your expensive paper. I wanna see your skill with a plain old pencil and paper.

I just went for it ^^ When I draw horse heads/necks, i can usually belt them out in under 30 seconds but i usually draw them as a particular size (about 4 in x 4 in) so with this one i just wumbo sized it so it would take more time to color in the mane and stuff xD

As i got bored and calls were coming in (i draw on the left page, write the call notes on the right page) i started doing other details on it, like heavy inking certain spots xD
I'm going to hopefully get a drawing kit put together this weekend (i'm off today and tomorrow) so i don't have to use lined paper xD
