Jesus Tapdancing Christ.
I have a LOT of spare time at work. It can take sometimes up to an hour and a half for me to get another call.
So, they let us read, draw, etc. We can't surf the net though ;;
So, i usually get tremendously bored if i'm not reading,and start drawing like CRAZY all over everything. I could only bring two pictures home that didn't have personal information of customers written on them xD So, here's one of 'em.
This picture... i hated at first.. a lot. I was actually thinking about skipping this page completely but i stayed on it. And the calls were REALLY slow today, so i had a lot of time to stare at this thing and continue inking it, scribbling, etc.
This is the end result. I didn't use a pencil at all here, this is 100% BIC blue pen. I used roughly.... half of a pinky fingernail's worth of ink on this alone xD I just kept going over it and over it and over it. Then i drew a really random Darky-wolf-with-mohawk beneath it.
In the end, i actually like how it turned out. I hated it when i drew it at first (when it was as light as the wolf beneath it) but as i threw more and more color on it i loved it xD
I might not scrap this one.. i really like it xD

Yeah, there was a Breyer horse on my desk that is in this pose, so i tried my best to draw-as-i-saw, which is something i HAAATE doing.. and i ended up getting pissed and winging it anyways xD

I love this medium. It's the closest analog you can get to really understand an artist and gauge their skill and whatnot. It's nice to see what an artist can do when they only tools they have available are really a pen, paper, and their skill. I absolutely love this kind of stuff. Digital art is great, but 'classic' stuff like this is just so much more pure.

Wow, i'm -really- glad someone noticed that! The only line i made was the circle at the top of the head, which i didn't end up using at all xD For the most part with my drawings, i just eyeball it. I'm sure if i did guidelines i'd understand how the horsie-anatomy works a bit better and would be able to do different pictures (like different angles and whatnot ^^)
