Chikio and Mikinae are Luna and Gigi's adopted pixies who came from a completely different universe. A universe that no longer exists due to something horrible happening there. Unfortunately, they have very little memory of what happened but Chikio does recall running from falling rubble and dark black minions chasing her into a strange portal that lead to the universe that they stay in for now on.
When Luna was 14, she found the poor things living in a cardboard box in main street and took them home. Sadly, Luna's parents didn't approve of their newcomers but after noticing their daughter's bonding with the two, they decided to keep them, but just one had to stay but the other had to find a different home. Luna sorta understood and gave Mikinae to Gigi since she felt lonely often and Tabitha is already in a big family.

I got small small inspirations from the lil mascot sidekicks that are common in Magical Girl shows, example is the Precure series.
