I'm bored, have this.
The cry echoed over the grass, and Chase slipped the scabbard onto his shoulder, the firm leather and heavy weight of the sword barely felt, as he rushed over the small bluff that separated his tiny farm home with Phal from the main road that ran all the way to the nearby village. The moment he crested the rise, he noticed Sun and her mother, as well as a strange man in a hooded cloak, standing there, his hand held out.
He was muttering something, a strange set of words, not unlike the words of the woman in the woods, but somehow more...forceful. It was the only way he could say it. For a moment, he thought, perhaps, this man was one of the other villagers, maybe someone who didn't come into the village often, and had surprised the pair of women. But then he revealed a hand from his sleeve. a furless hand.
A human, his first and only thought, as the man twisted his hand in the air, forming a circle with it, a quick gesture, and one that caused a flash of light. When Chase's vision cleared, he saw that the circle had etched itself onto the dirt road, and the man's muttering grew to a crescendo, before finally, a sound like a crack of thunder echoed loudly love the low planes, and Chase gasped, rushing forward without thinking.
The circled of runs had faded, bleeding into the ground like so much rain water, but out of the dirt came a monstrous form. A bulbous body with no head, large arms, and feet the size of Chase's one head, as it ripped its way free, showing off its form of earth and stone, small droplets of light connecting the bits, giving it the form of some decrepit creature, that hobbled to its feet, and then formed too glowing, purple eyes in front of it.
Chase didn't hesitate, as the thing dared to raise its arms against the mother and child, his breath catching in his throat, crossing the few meters between him and the pair, and then standing between them and this golem thing. The maker of it didn't even seem surprised, instead twisting his hand again, and causing the golem to change its targets, bringing its arms down directly onto Chase.
Chase didn't have but a moment to react, but he was faster, and strong, and saw the connections between the limbs and the central mass, flowing bolts of purple lightning the same shade as the golem's eyes and the magic of the human, and he struck at them. The moment melt and the arc touched, he felt a shock go up his arm, and his hair stood straight up, but he didn't stop moving the blade, until it had torn clean through, and let the motion carry him forward.
The warrior rolled, barely missing the other hand as it came down, but watching as the one he'd severed fell to the earth, and collapsed into a mound of useless slag, no longer animated by the magic of this other human, who seemed taken aback by this attack, and then made another motion with his hand, the golem turning to his maker, and then simply falling apart, as if that had been enough for him.
"You are an unknown variable. The Sages will need to add you into their calculations. A day has been bought, at most. Then, we shall fall upon this land," he said, not a threat, declaration, or anything of the sort. Simply a statement of fact. Then, as he had so suddenly made the golem, he vanished, a circle of runes appearing at his feet, and then him falling into them, before it vanished with a flash, leaving Chase to stare after him, and then turn back to Sun and her mother. There would be time to consider this, for now, he had innocents to keep safe.

Thank you, probably not where you're going with this, but it is a fun read. Hope to see more of it. I would enter into your raffle, but personal reasons mean I don't watch people(And won't lie by watching, and then undoing that later). Still, it is an inspiring story you've got going on here. Always a sucker for the floating island setup. Also cute furry women. Those are good too.
