One way or another, Arctic Zergs, as name implies, are affiliated with ice, snow and crystals. They are also, somehow affiliated with Protoss, possessing some of their wisdom. This way, they created own alternatives of Zerg Hives, becoming not Hybrids/Protozergs, just interdimensional beings. That's why their starting structures are Infested Void Shards instead of regular Hives. Although Protoss cannot be infested, it doesn't mean the same for pure technology of any race.

Arctic Zergs surpassed other Zerg Breeds by making some of own detector units unnoticed by most of enemies. Arctic Zerg Watchers with permanent cloaking ability are such example.
