The sky is dark over the open ridge, lighting crackling within the clouds as rain pours down from above. You stand there, sword in hand, ready. You were told that the beast would be out here, and by all accounts, it seemed it should. The heavy storm, the howling winds, the crackling of thunder. It all seems to be what precedes it’s arrival.

But it could all be coincidence, you think, storms are common this time of year. Not all of them could be the cause of this creature. But, you tracked her here. You wanted to find her, to slay her. To claim her bounty for your own so that you might never have to work a day again. But as your grip tightens on your blade you wonder if you even can. Something able to cause this much destructive force just by being. The howling winds, the lightning, the rain, all pelting down upon the earth as you wait in the darkness for it to appear. Would it even do so? You couldn’t exactly go and find it, flight in this weather would be a death sentence.

You’d just have to wait, and hope it finds you to be worthy pray….

Turns out, you wouldn’t have to wait long.

In a flash, a sudden spark of energy, crackles and shoots down next to you. You think of your good fortune that it didn’t slam straight into you, but as you look over at the smoking crater, you see how wrong you are. The beast, here in all it’s crystalline glory, dragonic in some respects, equine in others. With a spiraling horn attop it’s head. It gives you a smile, one almost seeming soft, before it darts forward at you. In a breath, you ready your blade, and slash forward, intent true, but it missed its mark.

All that you gained from the strike was the knowledge of how fast the creature truly was, as the strike you planned to cleave deep into its heart, only grazed the crystals along it’s thighs. They break free, a few sprinkling off into the stormy night, but you get a glimpse of her. A smile, upon her face. Was she...happy? That you were able to land a blow? Was it...amused, by you?

A few more quick strikes, and the levels between your powers, seemed to be evident. The creature, despite its size and sheer stature, only seemed to be gaining in speed, while you, where rapidly burning your fastest strikes, just to try and graze it. The battle was being lost fast, with various strikes coming in to pound and rattle your arc resistant armor.

You were getting rag dolled, and you had yet to even strike a blow. So the question flashed, deep within your mind…

Can you retreat? Or will this be the final bounty you decided to take….

Thissss be yet another lovely image I got from  glass-walker during one of their 'themed commission' months. The theme was monstrous, and I couldn't help but throw Blixtin at her and see how she turned out! Well, first off she's OBviously more thicc! that is a given! but other than that she gained a lot more dragonic traits, her tail thickening up with her muzzle also growing out with much sharper teeth, and her crystals forming a bit of a necklace on her body with just her crystals being more spiky and pronounced in general. Honestly, think it looks really cool! And I might use this as a more 'overcharged' state when it comes to her, the more crystal dragon elements taking over the Kirin parts do to her mana flooding her form. I like the thought of it ^^ though now got to think of what type of even would cause it >3< rubs chin and ponders. Also hope you like me doing another 'you' type of story, 'you' being an unknown adventure tasked with taking down this newly emerged creature, but 'you' being totally out matched, and just hopping your able to get away. Was a rather fun story to experiment with, so hope its a fun little read to get through as well :3.
