I KNOW I DO!!!! I use myself as a reference for almost all guy things and sometimes force lexy to pose for me female stuff or to see if a pose is correct looking.

OH and i have a funny habit of making the same face that i'm drawing on the character without even knowing it so i'm making all these ooh ahhh agoogle blarrg rah faces while i draw and people look at me so wierd

That's the only way to make sure you got the drawing right is to do the pose yourself

So I was trying to get this one fight pose right, it was this guy kicking another guy in the chest, so I start putting my feet on the wall to see what it would look like, but then I spaced what was doing in the first place and started messing around and walking on the wall, doing a handstand. My mom is standing at the doorway just staring at me.

It took me a bit to realize, because at this point I'm just having fun, talking to myself and stuff. I finally look up and see her, which scared the crap outta me and I fell.

She just turned around and walks away with a blank expression without saying a word.

I do test out some of my hand positions for the poses I draw my characters in. But that's about it.

I had some really embarrassing moments working on projects when I was sharing an apartment with a buddy while I was still in the military. Was watched for almost ten minutes, once, before he spoke up apparently. lol

Every artist does it, at least, every good artist does it on some level. I love catching ones that deny it staring at a hand in a random pose while working on something. Or the faces! I love seeing the faces! (Even though I do it too.) XD

well my friend does she makes me take pictures of her to make sure she has the pose right like the way shes drawing it :> its the only real way to know if your drawing it right or not

you know I do practice drawing with poses (not like this though). It helps show how the body works.
