This New Filipino Furry Movie? It's Not Good. *EXPLOSIONS...
Hayop Ka! is a romantic comedy m*vie with a furry guise by Filipino director Avid Liongoren (that's a sus name I'm not gonna lie) released a month ago on Netflix.
I'll cut to the chase here; I already have a distaste in m*vies by default because of many reasons, and this new release will add another one: for whatever reason, the Philippines is faaaaar too oversaturated with making m*vies about love problems that could be realistically avoided by not having characters that make stupid decisions and use mental gymnastics to "defend love." Its kinda worse than simps as a concept. It's a kind of cliché that the Philippines alone has kind of established, for the worse, in my opinion. Potaena bakit ang hihilig naming mga Pilipino sa ganitong kabobo at kakorni na plot? Ganyan ba kami talaga kabulok magmahal o bobo lang talaga mga writer? Potek!
If you can see from this m*vie poster alone, yeah, dumb cat gets herself in a love traingle. Such a good story to inspire others! Y******s! *vomits*
Love is blind - and stupid too - but why, Avid, whyyyyy? Making a furry m*vie doesn't make vapid Filipino romance plots any less mediocre. The furry aspect isn't the main deal anyway; if anything, it's the locally popular voice actors that would carry the weight of another generic plot. I'm not sure when Filipino writers will begin to write better plots that could serve to actually be a good influence worth watching for instead of "WAOW HE DEFENDED HER LOVE FOR THE 3929282TH TIME (look at this simp)". Stupid romance has become the capeshit of Filipino cinema and it's sad.
Would I recommend this m*vie? Certainly not, especially if you don't like the plot the way I see it. But chances are you'll get horny for one of the characters or something. Even then, MANY a furry show would have already gotten your hots for the characters better than this, too. This is basically just Beastars pushed off a building and hitting the pavement head-first, right before a flaming piano does, too. Frankly, I'd really rather watch Beastars; that anime sticked the landing so gracefully in all aspects.
Why am I ranting about this? Well, mediocrity is inevitable, and this time around it came in the form of this m*vie. Stay away from it if you can, despite this review ironically inevitably going to attract more clout for a m*vie I wish you wouldn't have the misfortune of finding.
So, this new Filifurry m*vie, "Hayop Ka!"? It's not good. *explosions*

Add last give the motivation to draw those characters for furry artists as fan art.
I would patiently wait until would come to Polish Netflix with Polish dubb or lector. If Castlevania was getting Polish dubb with vulgar language why not that Adult Animation from Filipino Netflix?
