In my days of RP chat, I had the fortune (good or bad) to pair up one of my characters with this little creature whose species, a Quimito, is something another RP friend had created as a foil and companion for other characters. While I can't hold claim to the species, Mica is certainly a character I'd given personality as soon as she hatched.

The most unique thing about Mica is her pairing with my Kahralain character Delaini Sheldin. Her bright and sassy nature is constantly a stark contrast to her surrogate's quiet and polite personality, and the poor guy must weather it all while suffering the side effects of the way they are paired (she phases into his body and drinks his blooooood) :P Here, Mica is holding a plushie representing Delaini's animal form, that of a cheetah.

Mica possesses an affinity for magic, particularly those of dark magics and of ice, which makes her personality yet another contrast. The affinity may later show itself in other powers, but for now, they mostly just enhance the innate qualities of her surrogate.

Delaini is himself not very magical externally, but as part of the Kahralain people, he has much unknown potential as his people used to partake in magics now forbidden and unknown to them. The only one he and his people now retain is the ability to shift forms into an animal whose species is determined at a coming-of-age time known as "The Changing." The cheetah became his "true form" with his wanderlust and tendency to run off. Ironically, it was that tendency that caused him to cross paths with a person carrying such mysteriously colored eggs... which soon hatched. Hilarity ensues.
