Auramancer Nikhil Rajda

This is the first character reference where I drew the lines traditionally and colored it digitally, and I think this worked out really well! I've always felt bad about artists putting up with my traditionally-colored references so I thought I'd make things easier for them going forward. :D
The son of a surgeon and a nurse, Nikhil enjoyed a comfortable life. But when Nikhil becomes chosen by the Ancestors to wield the element of light and strange creatures from another land arrive seeking refuge from monsters, a grand responsibility is thrust upon him and his friends.
Among his friends, Nikhil most openly expresses his fear. He screams a lot and is easily startled. But all the others, Nikhil is perhaps the most patriotic. Due to his love for history, he takes great pride in what the people of Fidus Portus have have built for themselves after escaping the great war with the outside nations. Unfortunately, the threat of war terrifies him more than anything else. Reading about the atrocities committed against his Ancestors, Nikhil strives to stop it from coming to his home. Thankfully, he's got his art and his plants to keep him sane. XD
He has a mild speech impairment, causing him to frequently stutter and stumble over his words. It gets even worse when he's afraid.
As an Auramancer, Nikhil commands the holy element of light, allowing him to mend wounds, revitalize the body, erect crystalline barriers, and smite those in his way. While his light magic doesn't inflict much damage on people and animals, it's devastating to those corrupted by darkness. Instead of using conventional arrows for his bow, Nikhil summons bolts of light.
