Some of the people who worked on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. also worked on Metro. Compared to Metro, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a lot more free-form and open-world. Both have similar dystopian aesthetics. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is set in Ukraine, in and around Chernobyl and Pripyat.
