Bell Island Map
Made this beaut' with Inkarnate!~ I suddenly and intensely DESIRED a map of Marie Jezebel's home island.
Without a knowing guide, it's impossible (and probably deadly) to travel from the southern docks to the Half-Way Home Hide-away, hidden at the far north-end of the island. That's the idea, it's a very well protected pokemon shelter. Since HHH's last owners passing, it's only Marie-Jezebel, the new caretaker of the island, that knows the true safe path through the jungles, caves, and the island's unique and mysterious obstacles...
Bell Island is largely unknown, and its reputation often only finds those in dire need. It is located roughly six hours to the south of the Alolan region, though it technically falls into undefined territory.
Bell Beach-- White sand, sea shells, beautiful crystal clear water. Inspires calm and peaceful moods, almost as though it comes from more than just the picturesque scenery.
Dream-Reader Ruins-- North of the beach, ruins surrounded by thick gorgeous jungle. The mischievous but benevolent spirits create illusions from the sweetest dreams and memories of those who pass through. Without a strong sense of focus, it's a little too easy to fall into foggy distraction and forget there was anywhere else you needed to be. On rare occasions, particularly sour spirits may create illusions based on someone's nightmares, but they rarely do that unprovoked. Even if you're having a good time, it's wise not to linger too long in the ruins. There are rumors and whispers of odd transformations that overtake humans and pokemon alike who stay past their welcome.
Eastern/Western Sleeping Guardians-- Appeared mysteriously the night after the previous owners of The Halfway-Home Hide-away were killed. The bones are to be respected, and remain untouched.
Temperance Mountain Range-- Probably the place Most Likely to Kill You on the whole island. The mountains are a labyrinth of treacherous circumstances; lava flow and mirror-like tunnels of ice make any misstep either immediately deadly, or eventually so. Falling into the lava will kill you quicker than starving in the maze, at least. There are also obstacles such as falling shards of razor-sharp ice, freezing whirl-pools, sheer walls of lava that flow like waterfalls and floors that seem about to crumble into a flamey abyss, for all their cracks and hissing smoke. In some tunnels, the air is too cold to breathe, in others, there is too much smoke.
A knowing guide is usually essential for surviving this part of the trip.
Bell-Walker Pass-- A place steeped in mysterious lore. The huge rock formations that resemble the legs of towering beasts are covered in ancient writing and hieroglyphics. It is said that those unworthy of HHH's protection will wake the ghosts of the stone and the bones of the ancient beasts will lift from the ground and crush any who bare the sanctuary beyond an ounce of ill will or dubious intent. But that's got to be a silly legend to scare off intruders... right?
Halfway-Home Hide-Away--Marie Jezebel's pokemon shelter. There are plenty of private rooms on the beach, as well as a public area for meals and hanging out. The whole beach is surrounded by mysterious blue and red crystals that constantly pulsate a dull healing glow. It is in part thanks to these crystals that the pokemon and other creatures who reside in HHH are cured of ailments and injuries that could not be cured so effectively (or at all) elsewhere. These crystals are part of why Bell Island is kept more or less secret.
Ghostship Graveyard-- A mysterious scattering of apparently haunted ships; it is unclear if they were trying to breach the protective volcanic ring to enter the island, or escape it. Feral wild ghost pokemon are said to live on the ships, loyal to their friends who passed away when the vessels crashed. It is also said that the ships hide a massive treasure, but that it could be fatal to visit them after dark. Sometimes folk who go to explore there simply never return...
