If Kyra the Firebrand could use one word to describe the faces that knew her line of work, it would be "judgemental". The Mists provided all the battles, plunder, and reputation she could ever want, but a lack of organizational structure, much less an anchor to a specific dimension, made most charr wary of her. Stares and passing words turned into arguments, and sometimes barroom brawls.

But once in a while, some charr understand in deeper, more intriguing ways. Their words are derisive but not dismissive. And despite their contempt for the Mist-bound mercenary life such as hers, there is a pinprick of curiosity that may convince them otherwise. Maara is one of such. Turns out she knows about Hammerlord, and the initial disputes turned into spirited conversations. No more vitriol; it was just camaraderie and pats on the back...as well as the occasional romp.

Kyra doesn't know how long this will last, but for now it's one more reason to stem her wanderlust.
