Pulse in the Park Goes Pear-Shaped
Duncan had heard of cousin Damo and was a fan of his stories for years. Then one day he decided to contact him. After finding him to be an all around great guy and instant bui-bud he wondered why he had delayed this meeting for so long. So he invited him to a game of pulse in the park whenever he was in town, his visit came a few weeks later.
The game of pulse is as casual to pokemon as two trainers playing catch, but pokemon have their own games, each with their own strict rules for play. In pulse they each summon a water pulse and hurl it at one another from an ever increasing distance for the 100% chance the mirrored attacks will disintegrate in between them. It can be played again and again and is particularly fun to watch. Duncan says even play should be treated as training and he has these warm up exercises he learned from an elder floatzel some call odd. These exercises focus a buizel's special “water conjuring Nen.” Damo thought he had heard that term somewhere before but not from any buizel he could remember.
The one exercise that Duncan refers to as the water pump seemed to go on forever. Damo, tiring from working muscles he had not exercised before, wonders if this is all necessary. He plays along anyways and feels strangely stronger afterwards. "See?" Says Duncan, "I told you exercise is important, it can increase dexterity and give you a better chance to confuse your opponent." And with that they each went to a different end of the park.
Duncan summons his pulse and Damo his, but while Damo is concentrating with his eyes closed, he failed to notice as his pulse kept growing and growing. Duncan is amazed. Amazement turns to concern and concern would soon turn to panic. He does the only thing he can think of and throws his pulse at the same moment Damo throws his larger one since they SHOULD cancel each other out. The moment Duncan sees his pulse get merely absorbed into the other he relies on his deepest Sinnoh instinct and begins screaming and running, not soon nor fast enough and it bowls right over him.
Damo is inconsolable, horrified that on their first meeting he has hurt his new friend and relative. Duncan, dazed, comes to and sees this for what it is, exercise has awoken a hidden ability in Damo and this will be a story to share with the family. "Wait until they hear about this." Says Duncan. They celebrate a fun, albeit eventful, perhaps historic first training day together with a Yatta!
"Let's do it again!" exclaims Damo. Duncan answers "S-Sure but let's skip the warm-up exercises for a bit and work on control."

His sister? Lol. Damo is his new friend. His sister, Connie, is the one who makes fun of him all the time for wearing a swimsuit all the time. It was her nagging him that made him vow never to evolve to floatzel because she did first and he did not like how it changed her.
