I'm actually kind of surprised that Marellis has kept this confined to the base. Abusers like him tend to like controlling all aspects of their victims' lives. They want to "own" them, for lack of a better word, to control how they think even when the abuser isn't around.

Marellis, luckily, seems content to just use his blackmail to make Star act like he thinks she should while at work. And while that is absolutely terrible, don't get me wrong, it's actually a bit of a good thing in that Star at least has an escape from him (IE: Going home).

As to what you said? I don't think he wants her to snap, I think he's flexing. "How'd you like that walk in? A bit embarrassing? Imagine how much worse it would be if I did tell them?" He's showcasing his control, I think, demonstrating just how much he could ruin her life. He may be gearing up to something bigger, and needed to reaffirm his power over Star, but overall I think he's just trying to spook Star into "Behaving".

But I can only theorise, so we'll see the next time Star updates and makes my heart race because of second hand anxiety and anger (seriously: major props to BabyStar for making me care about this character so much).

Something tells me this is going to have to do with mental regression or hypnosis. Because it's one thing to build a nursery, which a good way to get in trouble with high-ranking officers, but it's another thing entirely to develop a means to make your enemies incapable of acting appropriately in hostile situations; which might be the military spin on the project. It's the best way to abuse Star by forcing her to be a test subject, while publicly humiliating her and exposing baby ways without it making it seem out of place or improper.

Marellic volunteered star to test a military diaper of some kind, and told people she willingly said she would try it, and it will turn into a situation where she has to test it and say she volunteered or will have her blackmail be revealed

if this is alluding to what i think its alluding to, id imagine marrelis is not the type to so easily divulge his evil plan, or at least the full extent of it. and i also doubt that star's coworkers are the type to do this subtle teasing when she doesnt like it. what i think happened is marrelis told star's coworkers abt the baby stuff but lied and said she wanted to involve it into her work life and wants her coworkers to help with that. while i think its odd marrelis would involve her coworkers at all, that seems like the only way her coworkers would be on board with this
