The victim of a freak chemical accident, and worse yet, crippling student debt; white-furred goat Kyle Cooper turned to supervillainy as a means of taking back control over his life. Temping as a henchman for a mad scientist and using his newfound gelatinous powers to pull off heists independently. In at least one alternate timeline though, a twist of fate brought him into an unusual partnership. A chance meeting with an immortal whose long years of living had afforded him considerable wealth.
Kyle's loans from the bank were paid off. In place of money, he now owed a debt of service to the golden-eyed villain. There were certain occult books, cursed relics and protected secrets that Canthus wished retrieved. And Kyle felt mysteriously compelled to carry our each of the missions given by his new master. The chemistry between henchman and employer growing steadily stronger over time.
Kyle belongs to
starlightwyvern, who has been a true friend through out some of the toughest times for me in this rotten year. The world of caped crusaders and superheroes in spandex isn't one Canthus often finds himself in. When being adapted into the setting however, I definitely picture him working best as the sort of villain that might be seen running around a place like Gotham. Clean suits, tommy guns and a heaping helping of eldritch cult magics.

Canthus prefers a quality over quantity approach. Rather than legions of faceless henchmen, he keeps a small number of handpicked elites and takes the time to get to know each of them personally. Kyle definitely swapped one Faustian arrangement for another, but he does get along much better with his new employer than he did with the bank that previously owned his debt. Even if there is an element of hypnotic influence involved.
Quality over quantity is always a good approach/ideology to have, in the case of people such as Canthus. Good to know he has lovely taste in such handpicked elites, though I wonder how Kyle gets along with those other elite henchman working for Canthus. Though I do agree he looks to be getting along with this new arrangement more, based on what I see and know about him, regardless of the hypnotic influence, but that just makes it have an extra element of fun to it.
Also, very glad to hear that you too have an awesome friend in Starlightwyvern! ^^ Especially in this year.
