colored pencils this time ^.^
And the brushpen I got is a Pentel pocket brush pen - I've only had it for a little while, but its really nice... its got real bristles instead of a felt tip, and its refillable. The brushpen was used for most of the outlining of the character, but the stripes are colored pencil.

actually the micron and the brush pen are really different. i have less control over the brushpen, and it has a variable thickness - it can get very thick or very thin, while the micron is a very thin technical pen (.005 micron) which only has one possible line thickness unless you go over the same line more than once, and therefore I have greater control with it. So for most of the lines I used the brushpen, but I used the micron for the very delicate lines that I needed more control for (such as the linings and frogs on the dress, and the pawpads on her hands) Working with both gives me the freedom and expression of working with the brushtip, as well as the fine control of the micron, for using each where I feel I need it most.
Mei Ling, remember the catchphrase from the three musketeers, "One for all and all for one?" You have to be careful out there, because your enemies will surround you once they gather that you're a skilled warrior. Take care to use the environment to your advantage, not to mention keeping your focus off one or two people. Honor is not always something our people live by.

I wasn't aware that Mei Ling was someone from Metal Gear.. I named her that for a completely different reason ^.^
I was trying to think of a Chinese name... and I was reminded of my dad having wanted to name my older sister Mei Ling - but my parents decided not to. I always thought it was a nice name though, and I think some people call her that anyway. Coincidentally, as of 2 minutes ago, it is her 30th birthday. Thats also why she was on my mind.

Well, she looks like she's prepared for almost anything!
(though I wonder about the practicality of the outfit she's wearing. I do realise that it's appropriate for her era and ethnicity, but if she flipped upside down... >.> Let's just say I hope she's wearing something else under there <.<)
