"Fear kills more dreams than failure ever will..."
“Whew, I’m getting too old for this stuff.” Tossing the dumbbells on the mat, Whisper wiped her hands down before glancing down at her smartwatch. She still had a few more sets to complete before moving on to her cardio circuit.
Today was HIIT training: two sets of 45 second intervals, hitting everything from upper and lower body, along with abs. Followed up with some jump rope to keep her heartrate up.
…she was dead.
Why did she have to increase the weight on squats?! She was feeling it in places she did not want to talk about. As the timer went off, she knew that meant her break, if you want to call 15 seconds a break, was over. With an exhausted sigh, she grabbed the 20s and went over to the bench to do some flies and presses. After that, she would follow up with some shoulder presses, back flies, lateral raises, and THEN she could do cardio!
She had only been exercising for about 35 minutes, but it felt like much longer! Not that she was complaining: contrary to the pain she was in and how sweaty she was, she -liked- workouts like this one! It really made her feel fit and alive-
“The things I do to stay in shape,” she thought to herself as she took a quick sip of water and got back to work- no pain, no gain indeed.
Yes, that description is an actual workout I will be doing this morning. Along with a 5 mile bike ride and maybe some running as well! Will I pass out? Probably so!
What? You think Whisper is the only one that workouts like a madwoman? NOOO…
Who do you think she gets it from? I did put some real life aspects of myself into my girl, even her figure and spunky personality!
You know, working out has taught me a lot: discipline, hard work, consistency, and patience: particularly the latter. Especially when you exercise every single day, yet your weight refuses to go down!!! And you want to throw the scale across the room like a shot put. But you don't because scales are very expensive to replace-
...don't judge me; I really do hate the scale, lol.
But you keep at it because you know if you give up, you will be right back where you started in the first place. That and eventually, if you keep working hard, you DO get results.
To build a strong, fit body, it has to become a lifestyle!!! Not a “I need to lose x amount of pounds because of, (insert reason here).”
I want to give a huge thanks to the talented artist behind this piece: shermugi. Look at how fit and toned my girl looks!
...if only I looked that good in real life, LOL.
Thank you so much again!

I know right?! Oddly enough, the artist thought I would be disappointed in the piece because it looked too "simple." Hardly!
Sometimes, simple is best.
Btw, going to send you my workout stats via text after I finish eating and washing up- yeah, I REALLY did this workout this morning: weight training, biking, walking...I'm dead. Dead and starving, lol.
Oh I know you have a temper and you're impatient (no offense). That's definitely something you should work on. As you get older, you will definitely learn patience is good to have.
