so yeah.. ive come across a rather awesome 3d program for all yeh artists out there a bit too intimidated by things like zbrush, maya, blender, etc

http://www.curvy3d.com Curvy3d, its quite intuitive, pretty much you draw flat, basic lines for the model in any 3d view, and it inflates a model along the said line, then you just add another, and another, til it begins to take shape (IE this model starting out as six lines starting in the left view, width and detaile drawn with the top and front views)

Then if you want to go further, you can add more line based objects called "Lathes" position them, merge them as one, instantly convert it to a mesh, and from there sculpt detail and paint directrly on it..

i did the trial, in minutes i figured id get it, still getting a hang of the program, though the results in what you can do in a few pen strokes are quite awesome

still, zbrush or Luxology Modo 401 still trump this program for texturing, curvy3d is the most user freindly modeling program i,ve found (even has native rigging/posing options for animating models)
