I figgered you guys might be curious, if you bothered to read any of the past few descriptions, what the Digivices from "Digimon Empire" looked like. Originally called "D-Scanners," the D-Comps actually evolve like the Digimon they're part of, becoming a Level 2 type just in time to initiate the Bio-Merge Digivolutions into Mega level.
Like much of my story, the Level 1 types are based off of Season 3, aka "Digimon Tamers," and posess the same amazing levels of functionality as the D-Arcs, including the all-important card reader, and the Level 2's are a more powerful version of the same, their appearance based off of the Digivices from the V-Tamers manga.
See, like Season 3, "Digimon" is an actual property in "Empire," and the namesake of the story is an attempt by Black Tower Digital, the company that employs FangRenamon's human partner as a programmer, to revive the popularity of the brand by making it into a Massively-Multiplayer Online RPG. It's while he's working on code for the still-in Beta game that the main characters (and their entire two-level apartment complex) get sucked into the Digital World, only to discover that the Black Emperor and his minions are attempting to merge the two worlds in order to save the Digital World from disappearing completely...of course, it merger isn't going as well as planned, instead tearing ever-increasing hunks from both worlds and swapping them.
