Anyone remember "The Furkindred? Thought not. =( It was probably one of the best "shared-world" anthologies nobody ever heard of.

This is the first chapter of a fanfic I've been working on (off and on) since the original publication came out.

Oddly enough, though it's not finished, I already know the last line. In fact it was my starting point and I've been working toward it ever since.
