Rarely seen in a sober state, captain Rayne is a hero that fell from grace a long time ago. Once a proud agudner guard, she would patrol the city making sure its citizen were safe during the night. She was known for her bright mood and was rarely seen without a smile to her face.
She had a nevrean husband and lived a peaceful life, it was until she arrested a dangerous crime boss who had a lot of connections. Dal Komor is a corrupted city and when she refused to let him go by her superior, they decided to keep her husband as an hostage until she set the crime boss free.
Stubborn with a sense of justice, she tried to take down the criminals holding her husband, but was killed as she was outnumbered. They killed her husband as well as he was no longer needed, when guards found her corpse, they brought her to the morgue where Azara her closest friend refused to see her die.
She was used in a sinister experiment to cheat death and became one of the only successful result. While Azara was happy to see her alive, when Rayne heard of her husband passing, she begged them to bring him back. Unfortunately it did not succeed and now she was living without what she held dear.
Losing her original body, losing her love and not know what to do, she blamed Azara for all of this, and while she refused to speak to her for years, with time she slowly became less cold to her , but still has a lot of contempt towards her . While she still protects the streets from criminal she slowly grew an addiction to alcohol to ease the pain of living.
Doesn't help her body refuses to age, and she is against suicide, forced to live an eternal life as she see's the citizen grow old and die, generation after generation. The only person she knows and is still alive is Azara who seems immortal to aging too .
When prince Yeron became king, to ease her pain he created a special shrine for her husband, so Rayne could spend as much time as she wanted alone alongside her lover's tomb without being disturbed by the populace.
