Yutu es uno de los gobernantes del reino lunar (una dimensión que existe, bueno en la luna). Los reinos Selenos se encuentran en guerra, además de que deben hacer frente, por un lado, los espíritus argentos, creaturas similares a los lobos, y por otro la rebelión de Tochtli el medio hermano de Yutu. Todo esto ha provocado que los soberanos lunares descuiden su función de guardianes y ocasionalmente alguna de las muchas amenazas selladas en la luna escapa a la tierra.

Originalmente planeaba que la cultura de los conejos lunares fuera una mescla de la china imperial y el imperio azteca, pero no me gusto el resultado, así que decidí mejor hacerlos un reino dividido entre dos medios hermanos, con Yutu inspirado en la versión asiática del mito, y Totchtli basado en la versión amerindia de la leyenda
