Because of Covid, Uriel has been working from home since about April. It's nice to have someone in the house and I've gotten peeks into what he does for his office. The thing is though, what he seems to do is attend meetings all day.

It's absolutely true! The higher you go in engineering, the more meetings you will attend. It turns your other job tasks into a kind of de-stressor between meetings.

How fun to be able to get a peek into that world. :)

I feel like the higher you go into any major field, the more meetings you end up having to attend.

Your knowledge and talent is wasted in a production environment; you belong in PLANNING.

Yeah, my job is 100% remote -- I live in Connecticut and I'm working in Iowa. They hold meetings using Microsoft Teams and sometimes even do training that way. Shoot me, now.

This reminds me of a Not Always Right post I saw where a bunch of managers and higher-ups at the OPs workplace were setting up a meeting to discuss goals and the like.

They couldn't find a date that would work for them so they actually scheduled a meeting to schedule a meeting.
