It's time again!
What a year. Personal rant incoming.
I usually do these yearly summaries , because it is always nice to look back and see your technical progress throughout the years. It is supposed to be motivating and it should give you the big picture and prevent you from getting lost in the details. It is hard to see the progress on a daily basis, but when you have a comparison of a decade, there should be (ideally lol) many changes.
2020 was a horrible year for me, not even because of the pandemic. Since 2019 i experienced loss after loss in my personal life. I truly thought that the world was ending. At least for me it was.
And then when you hit rock bottom, and you see how things cannot get any worse, you realize that there is always the chance to restart everything.
So, i started over.
I am the same, but now with the knowledge that i can do things after all on my own. And now I'm starting to see what I'm supposed to actually do.
Also amazing things have happened as well, so I'm very conflicted about this year's summary. I don't have a word for it. I received the most amazing job opportunity ever and i met a wonderful person who brings light to my grey loner artist days. I'm very lucky and grateful for both, and I don't know how I could have went on without the family and friend support i have right now. Thank you for You.
December is supposed to be empty, because i'm working on secret things 🙂 But hopefully I can show it to you soon!
I made the glass angels mostly in september, and I want to continue that project and expand it a bit, we'll see in the future how i'll have freetime. Commissions are usually taking all my time, so I can't always work on what I want to work on.
I almost finished Interlude's first chapter this year, then things happened and I don't think I will work on this anymore. Years of work and LOTS of unfinished art goes to the trash, but this is how things go. Some projects need to die so that you can learn from it and move on to more worthwhile things.
However, I am planning to go back to my own story, Lightshard.
This will need lots of time and planning, and I don't even know how I will do it, but it is in the back of my head since forever so ... possibly.
i'm not sure if this is too personal for an art summary? I don't know. Since I tend not to post anything about me, at least maybe this can give you a picture? What do you think, do you wish to know the artist you follow or you don't actually care?
I know, i should just make a tutorial instead of rants 😃 It might happen! Any specific topic you would be interested in? (i always feel like it's pointless to do tutorials at this point, there is everything already out there!)
