I have to agree, I don't like the direction they took with the second game and it's main character design. Gameplay wise it's more Resident Evil than Tomb Raider, which means a lot of Enemies that can come at you from expected directions as well as unexpected directions and places, and things that the First Haydee wouldn't have had an issue with because of her Jumping and Crawling abilities, you end up falling victim to because of the obligatory Waist High Fence getting in the way.
Androids can be sexy but a big part of that relies on the Android's face. Since it's based on Humans, it can either be Ridiculously Hot or Butterface, and the lips and nose make me feel it sliding toward the Latter end of the scale. Come to think of it, it's very easy to mess up the Nose...
As for the Outfit, the Tactical Wetsuit look makes her look like an improperly dressed cop. Like yeah I get it, sex appeal, but the skin tone for her Legs here makes it look like she's not wearing pants and is just using a black leotard. Feels like a 50/50 chance of her either giving me a parking ticket or parking her ass on my window shield. Basically I like the First game's design better because keeping her a Robot makes her more openly unique-looking than this.
My opinion is that they took the things that made Haydee an interesting novelty in the first game and replaced it with a Survival Horror aesthetic that's in this uncanny medium where it's too easy and full of over the top sexual things to keep you on the edge of your seat or take you for a thrill ride, but too hard to pleasure yourself in the middle of gameplay or coast through unfamiliar parts and enjoy the experience without getting blindsided a lot. The whole thing's a tease that wants your eyes on the road instead of the butt on your windshiel- dammit I'm making that analogy again.
